Erin Bowerman - Stage Manager and warm up coach

Erin’s day job is as a qualified strength and conditioning coach with a background in dance, having trained in RAD ballet up to Advanced 2. She holds a Bachelor of Dance and a Master of Sport & Exercise from AUT University where she carried out her research at the Australian Ballet School in conjunction with High Performance Sport New Zealand (HPSNZ). Erin is an accredited strength and conditioning coach with the Australian Strength and Conditioning Association, a qualified personal trainer and a published author. She also currently holds a research associate role with AUT University. In her work as an s&c coach Erin has had the privilege of training many young dancers that have gone onto study at and dance with some of the leading vocational schools & companies both in Aotearoa and internationally.

From 2016-2018 Erin was based in London where she worked as a strength and conditioning coach at the Royal Ballet School White Lodge and the National Centre for Circus Arts. In both roles Erin had the privilege of being at the forefront of and developing and implementing the strength and conditioning services. Since returning to New Zealand Erin has been working across multiple facets of the dance industry including providing healthcare support & supplementary training to several of New Zealand’s leading contemporary dance companies, in particular the New Zealand Dance Company (NZDC) and also the newly established New Zealand Youth Ballet Company in Christchurch.

In her spare time Erin has developed a passion for stage management and has the privilege of stage managing several dance productions throughout the year. Erin loves her involvement with the Classical Collab and thoroughly enjoys any opportunity to be back in the theatre while supporting arts initiatives for young Kiwi dancers.
