Amelia grew up in Whanganui, New Zealand. In her early years she participated in the Junior Associate program at the New Zealand School of dance, trained at the Whanganui Ballet and Dance Academy and attended summer/winter programs in New Zealand and overseas. After 18 months of full-time training in Australia, she moved to the United States at nineteen where she danced with Orlando Ballet Company, Milwaukee Ballet Company, Oklahoma City Ballet and also studied on scholarship at Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre in New York City in 2017.

In 2019 Amelia moved back home to New Zealand where she began a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Auckland, majoring in Psychology and Criminology. After a year away from dance, she began teaching at South Auckland Ballet Academy and Victory Performance Centre. In 2020 she adjudicated PACANZ ballet and modern groups in Palmerston North.

She is currently choreographing and performing in Phantom of the Opera, opening in Whanganui in September 2021, alongside her full-time study at the University of Auckland. Amelia has a strong passion for the creative arts, and is excited to continue pushing creative boundaries during her work with the Classical Collab this year.
