Erin Bowerman - Stage Manager and warm up coach
Erin’s day job is as a qualified strength and conditioning coach with a specialist background in dance. She offers evidence-based, dance-specific strength and conditioning for dancers of all levels, incorporating latest ‘best practice’ recommendations from sport and dance science into her coaching. Erin's passion for her work, background in dance and Pilates, and specific blend of knowledge in dance training, dance science, and strength and conditioning principles means she has a unique skill set not found anywhere else in New Zealand. Since 2018, Erin has worked with and for a number of elite dance schools and companies in New Zealand, including the New Zealand Dance Company and the New Zealand Youth Ballet Company. Prior to this, she spent two years as a member of the healthcare team at the Royal Ballet School White Lodge and the National Centre for Circus Arts in London. Currently, she trains both private students and a large portion of the freelance contemporary dance professionals in New Zealand, is the strength and conditioning coach for the New Zealand School of Dance, and holds a research associate position with AUT University. Dance-trained herself, Erin completed her RAD ballet exams up to Advanced 2 level, as well as training in jazz, tap and contemporary dance. Erin holds a Master of Sport & Exercise and a Bachelor of Dance from AUT University and was awarded the Top Scholar prize in 2010 while studying for her undergraduate degree. In her spare time Erin has developed a passion for stage management and has the privilege of stage managing several dance productions throughout the year. Erin loves her involvement with the Classical Collab and thoroughly enjoys any opportunity to be back in the theatre while supporting arts initiatives for young Kiwi dancers
